Anthony ?Tony? Wachala, 83, Fargo, ND, passed away May 1, 2004 at his home under the care of Hospice. Anthony Wachala was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 1, 1921 to Anthony Wachala Sr. and Louise (Tokarz) Wachala. He graduated from Morton East High School in Cicero, Illinois. Anthony served in WWII in the Army Air Corps from September 1942 until December 1945. He returned to Lyons, Illinois and worked as a sheet metal worker in the Chicago area. Anthony married Rose Brancato on June 16, 1943. Anthony was employed by Pullman Sheet Metal Works for 14 years, retiring as a superintendent in 1983. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers? Union Local #73 of Chicago, Illinois. His wife Rose died on May 9, 1985. In 1991 Anthony moved to Fargo. He married Jo Doran Bach on June 30, 1993 in Fargo. He was a member of the American Legion Post #2 Fargo, ND. He was also a member of the Saint Anthony of Padua Church Funeral Choir. Anthony is survived by his wife Jo; a son Anthony (Rosemary), Tucson, AZ; a daughter-in-law Betty Wachala, Fargo, ND; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother and his son Gary. The funeral service for Anthony will be held in Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Fargo, ND on Wednesday May 5, 2004 at 11:00am. There will be a prayer service at Boulger Funeral Home , Fargo, on Tuesday May 4 at 7:00 pm with visitation on Tuesday from 4-7 pm and one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois. Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley or the Father Jack Davis Mission in Peru c/o Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Fargo.
