Arlene Moret

arlene moret
Arlene Mae Moret passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at the age of 87. Arlene was born to Alfred and Frieda Mohwinkel on November 29, 1932 in St. Paul, MN. She graduated from Harding High School in 1950 and married her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, Nick Moret, Jr., in June 1952. Together they raised their five children in Fargo, ND. Arlene enjoyed cross-country road trips and camping with her family. She also had a passion for the Minnesota Vikings. Her one regret is that the Vikings are 0-4 in Super Bowl appearances. Arlene worked many years at the Fargo motor vehicle office. Later she worked at the Red River Zoo as well as the Heirlooms store for the Hospice of the Red River Valley. As a firm believer in democracy, she worked the polls during elections for some 40 years. Arlene was also a long-time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Moret, Jr., in 2010 and her daughter, Carol Moret Neale earlier this year. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Mark (Pamela) Moret of Minneapolis, MN; Paul Moret (Sandra Golden) of Prescott, AZ; Linda Moret Lopez (Manuel) of El Cajon, CA; John (Lae) Moret of Snohomish, WA; and (Dan Neale) of New Brighton, MN. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. In consideration of the global pandemic, a memorial service will be arranged at a later date yet to be determined. In lieu of sending flowers, it was Arlene’s request that memorials be sent to the Hospice of the Red River Valley at hrrv.org or the Red River Zoo at redriverzoo.org.
