Arnold Olson, 80, Kindred, ND died Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at ManorCare Health Service in Fargo, ND.
Arnold was born May 27, 1925 to Erick and Mathilde (Johnson) Olson at Kindred, ND. He attended Kindred High School. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the 97th Infantry Division in China, Burma and India from 1943-1946 as a sergeant. He married Alpha L. Haugen in Moorhead, MN on November 16, 1946. They had one son Roy (Skippy) Olson
Arnold worked at Rustads and the IHC Dealership for over 40 years in the parts department. He was a life time member of the Kindred American Legion Post 117. He held many positions as well as Commander for many years. He was also a member of the VFW in Fargo, ND, and served on the Kindred Fire Department for 40 years, and was a member of the Kindred Lutheran Church serving as treasurer. In later years, he delivered “Meals on Wheels” and was treasurer of the Kindred Senior Citizens. Also he was a member of the Kindred Lions
Arnold is survived by his wife Alpha, a sister Ruth (Ray) Carlson, Adams, WI, sister-in-law Ardith Olson, granddaughter Lindsey, Zumbrota, MN, and several nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 son Roy (Skippy), his brothers Harold and Elmer, sisters, Esther (Art) Ramsfeld, and Inga (Ralph) Walters
The Funeral Service for Arnold will be Friday, April 21st, at 1:00pm at the Kindred Lutheran Church, with a Prayer Service Thursday, April 20th, at 7:00pm with visitation from 5-7:00pm at Fredrikson Funeral Chapel, Kindred, ND. Interment will be at the Kindred Cemetery, Kindred, ND.

    Such a nice man. I met him once, he and Alpha, when they came to Washington.
