Ashley Meehan

ashley meehan
Ashley M. Meehan, 30, West Fargo passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Sanford Health, Fargo after a long-time battle with Stage 4 Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Ashley was born June 4, 1989 in Fargo, North Dakota to Roger and Carol (Lanning) Meehan. She graduated from West Fargo High School in 2007. She went on to graduate from Josef’s School of Hair Design before working as a stylist at Lil’ Whipper Snippers in 2009 and becoming the sole owner in 2014. She loved being around children, which was evident in her owning of Lil’ Whipper Snippers. She was a second mom to many of her friend’s children and always found happiness in being able to spend time with them. Her pride and joy was her dog Luna which she showered with love and affection. She had a bucket list of things that she wanted to accomplish, one of her favorite things being “going to Hawaii with her close friends and family,” which was planned until her health declined in addition to COVID-19 preventing her from accomplishing this bucket list item. She was able to accomplish her goal of going skydiving, which she did in 2019. She also took a trip across 13 states in an 18-wheeler and her last trip to Arizona with her sister, mom and special “aunt” Beverly was an important memory for them all. She loved spending time at Lee Lake with her friends and family where she could be found helping with events for the campground. She was proud of her and her sister’s first place finish in the annual 4th of July golf cart parade. She had a “never-give-up” mentality in regard to her diagnosis and always remained positive throughout her battle. She always made sure everyone else was taken care of and was selfless in her ability to show her friends and family how much she loved them. Her smile and gentle nature will be missed by all she leaves behind. She is survived by her parents, Roger and Carol, West Fargo, ND; sister, Kayla (fiancé Jesse Buchholz) Meehan, Fargo, ND and special niece, MaKenna Buchholz. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Elaine Meehan and John and Patsy Lanning. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred. She always made sure Zach looked cool and Krista looked her best when we left. She had a heart of gold! She is the only one that could get Zach to dance at a wedding dance (and she wasn’t going to give up)…..we got a picture and it hung on her board at work…you have no idea how much that meant to us. 22. I’ll always remember the times we hung out and HS and how much joy you had seeing my son when we has a baby. I’ll miss your smile and our conversations.

  23. I read out of three different books daily to keep close to God, 2 of them are devotionals ,1 is story form, ironically the it was the very last story in that book today.it desribe a story extremely similar to Ashleys, it questioned why we DONT get angry with God in times like these, i believe Ashley is sending us a sign, In the end, all will be ok, God is so so good, thank you Ashley for your continuing positivity, we will spread your love always

  24. Ashley’s life put my life into perspective. Her struggles never seemed to keep her spirit down for long. She was always so optimistic and strong willed. She made me a better mom by making me realize how much I have to be grateful for. And therefore she made my children’s lives better. Ashley is a gift that keeps giving and will continue to give because she made others better people. My thoughts are with your family. May you find comfort in each other and peace in knowing that Ashley continues to brighten this world.

  25. Ashley’s big heart and personality were contagious. My heart breaks for all of you during this time. I always loved our visits when I came back to MN.

  26. Prayers of Peace and Comfort to Ashley’s Family and many Friends. The service today was full of love and memories of Ashley. She touched so many lives and will be forever remembered. We met Ashley almost 12 years ago when she gave our 1st son his first haircut and then our 2nd son. The boys and I always enjoyed our monthly visits over all these years visiting with Ashley. She spoke of her wonderful family often and of course Luna and the family dog she grew up with. The boys have prayed for her each night since she was diagnosed. We were all saddened by her passing but as our son, Liam said last night, Lord, be with Ashley’s family as they are sad but we know she is now happy and not sick anymore with you.

  27. I worked with Ashley along time ago at Creative Learning Child Care and remember her always being so happy , kind and caring. May she rest in paradise until we meet again .
