Barbara Louise Mucha, 84, Fargo, ND died, Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010 in Villa Maria Nursing Home, Fargo, ND
Barbara was born October 13, 1925, and was one of five children born to Jacob and Bernice (Weitzel) Goering at St. Cloud, Minnesota. She attended school in St. Cloud and graduated from Technical High School in the class of 1943.
Barbara worked in the retail apparel industry, mainly with the Emporium and Field-Schlick Stores of St. Paul, Minnesota. The job entailed close contact with the public and endeared her to many satisfied customers. She was affectionately called “Smiley” because of her cheerful smile and eternal optimism, which endeared her to many. She was always active with companies United Way charitable campaigns.
Barbara married Louis C. Mucha on October 13, 1978 in St. Paul, Minnesota. They transferred to Fargo, North Dakota in September of 1984 and retired in 1991.
She is survived by her husband, Louis C. Mucha: sister, Rosemary Lucas, Little Canada, MN and numerous nieces and nephews, three step-children; Steven L. (Becky) Mucha, Susan L. (Tom) McCafree and Sandra L. (William) Salchenberg all of Salem, Oregon.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Presentation Sisters or Nativity Catholic Church.
