Bernice Marthe, 79 years old, passed away at Villa Maria Nursing Home on Friday, July 23, 2021. Bernice was born on August 3, 1941, to Frank and Mary Jundt of Towner, ND. She graduated from Towner High School in 1960. She then attended the New York Hairstyling Academy in Fargo. While living in Fargo she met the love of her life, John I. Marthe, originally from Esmond, ND. They were married on January 19, 1963. Together they raised children, Pamela, John A., and Karla. She has been a member of Holy Spirit Church in Fargo for 60 years. Bernice was the rockstar baker of the family and could whip out a pie crust in less than five minutes. She was the neighborhood hostess and perm setter. She gardened and canned and loved to read and color. After her children were mostly grown, she worked at Mail Presort for many years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, spending summers at Devils Lake and Lake Sakakawea and winters in Alabama and Texas. Most of all, she loved being Gramma to Alex. She is survived by her daughter Pam (Kevin) Rezac of West Fargo, son John (Karin) Marthe of Denver, CO, daughter Karla Marthe of Fargo, and grandsons Alexander Rezac of Fargo and Jesse Rosario of Savannah, GA. She is also survived by her sisters Linda (Duane) Held of Wahpeton, ND and Betty Larson of Rugby, ND as well as her brother, Franklin (Judy) Jundt of Gillette, WY. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband John. There will be a visitation from 5-7:00 PM with a prayer service following at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, Fargo. The funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Fargo with a visitation one hour prior. The services will be livestreamed on the funeral home’s website. Burial at the Fargo National Cemetery.
