Bertha Abrahamson

Bertha Marie Abrahamson, Fargo, ND, formerly Park River, ND, age 94, died Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at Bethany Homes, Fargo. Bertha Larvick was born October 14, 1911 at Bismarck, ND, the daughter of Frances (Stedman) and Edward Larvick. She graduated from high school in Temvik, ND. After graduation she worked as a housekeeper on a farm near Enderlin. She began teaching in a one room school near Linton, ND until she married Edward Abrahamson November 1, 1941. The couple farmed near Binford, ND. She then attended school at Valley City State Teachers College and after graduation taught at Sheldon, Wheatland, Cando, and Park River. She retired from teaching in 1977. She owned and operated Ed?s Flowers in Park River, ND for 10 years. Edward died February 28, 1995. Bertha moved to Fargo in 1997. She entered Bethany Kinder House in August 2004 and later moved to Bethany Towers. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward in 1995; an infant daughter, Marvel; her son Leroy Abrahamson in October 2005; two brothers, George and Chester Larvick; and an infant sister. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Helen Abrahamson, Fargo, ND; two grandchildren, Rick Abrahamson and Greg Abrahamson, both Fargo, ND; and five great grandchildren.
