Blaine Swanson

Blaine passed away on May 26, 2011 at Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo at the age of 88.
Blaine E. Swanson was born on February 1, 1923 in Horace, ND, the son of Axel and Nina (Olson) Swanson. He grew up in this area and received his education. Blaine proudly served his country in the United States Armed forces - in the 1st Calvary Division, Army and Air Force. Upon his discharge he returned to North Dakota, He was united in marriage to Virginia Legler in Fergus Falls, MN, on January 11, 1947. They lived in West Fargo for a while and then moved to Albuquerque, NM for 2 years, then Indiana, Omaha, NE and back to Fargo in the early 1960's. Blaine worked in Fargo for many years at Silver Line Boats, Mid States Oil and Farmland Oil.
Blaine is survived by his children, Connie (Jerome) Timm of Fargo; Cheryl Swanson of Fargo; Ronald (Bernie) Swanson of West Fargo; Terri Swanson of Louisville, CO; and Deborah (Glen) Dilly of Fargo; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren (and a special little one on the way). Also surviving are his brother, Ray; and sisters, Ethel and Suzy.
Blaine was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Virginia; his son, Bradley; and his daughter, Donna.
