Brian Barker

Brian Barker, 48, of Gardner, ND died Sunday, April 20, 2008 in his home. Brian was born on May 21, 1959 in Fargo, ND to Cecil and Caroline (Dura) Barker. He excelled as an athlete in high school, especially in basketball and track. He graduated from Cass Valley North High School in 1977. He then attended North Dakota State School of Science where he was given a sports scholarship in track and field. In 1980, he graduated with Associates degrees in Agricultural Mechanics and Farm Business Management. On January 28, 1983 he married Jayne Bement in Bismarck, ND. The couple lived in Gardner, ND where he farmed with his father. The couple later divorced. In 1991, he moved onto the family farm and farmed with his brothers. Since 1990, Sue Belgarde has been Brian?s companion. Brian was an avid sportsman, especially hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents. Brian is survived by his son, Brian J. Barker of Stillwater, MN; His longtime companion, Sue Belgarde. Gardner, ND; Sue?s sons, Kyle and Tanner both of Fargo; brothers, Greg (Becky) Barker of Gardner, ND, Russ (Janet) Barker of Gardner, ND; sister, Shelley (Ken) Anderson of Grandin, ND; one nephew and three nieces. Brian will be sadly missed by family and friends and his spirit will live on through them.
