Brian Lee Ramberg, age 65, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, October 12, 2016.
Brian was born on April 11, 1951 to George and Annie (Christianson) Ramberg in Edmore, ND. Brian graduated from Mayville State College in 1973. On June 19, 1970 Brian was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Susan Wright. Brian worked at Chaffee Public Schools as a Superintendent before moving to Wimbledon, ND where he was the high school principal for the Wimbledon/Courtney school until his retirement in 2006.
Brian was a loving and proud father of his two sons: Jason (Robyn) Ramberg and Matthew (Robyn) Ramberg. Six grandchildren: Jace, Elise, Ty, Zoie, Peyton and Parker. Brian was also survived by his sisters: Joanne McGillis; Georgia Robb; and brother, Jerry Ramberg, as well as many nieces, nephews, and many many friends.

I was so sorry to hear of Brian’s passing. He was a delightful, friendly soul who interacted with whomever he came in contact . He loved showing pictures of his family and his and their fishing experiences in Devil’s Lake . He shared how he missed his wife. .now they’re are together again. My deepest sympathies to the family of this nice, nice man. God bless!
I was shocked to hear of Brian’s death. I cherish the many memories of Brian and Sue. Sue and I shared a classroom together and Brian and I were Principals together. He was a favorite teacher for my girls. Prayers for your family through these difficult days.
Brian will be missed by many of his fellow bingo players. He missed his wife so very much and they are now together. Bless you Brian.

So sorry to hear about Brian’s passing. I was so happy when Brian agreed to come to Wimbledon-Courtenay School to serve as my high school principal. I enjoyed working with him as he was an honest, hard working principal who had the best interest of the students in mind. Not only was he a great principal, but he was also an excellent teacher.

I took Biology and Adanced Biology from Mr. Ramberg back in 1974 and 1975. I enjoyed him very much as a teacher. I am sorry for not only the loss of you dad, but also your mom a couple of years ago.
Mr. Ramberg was one of those teachers that changed lives. I am so blessed to have had him as a teacher and a principal. I can only hope to be as good of a principal as he was. My heart is heavy for Jason and Matt. May they find peace and strength during this difficult time.

I am so heartbroken to hear of Brian’s passing. He was truly one of the greatest men I’d ever had the pleasure of meeting. We were very blessed to have both he and his wife Sue teach and lead us in school. They were wonderful friends to my Granny Teresa. I’m again deeply saddened by this! Please accept my condolences. So, so sad to her of Brian passing. He was so patient and I knew he genuinely cared about me and all my other classmates. He made such an impact on so many lives. I feel honored I got to share a few years of my life with him. Prayers for you all.
Sorry to hear of Brian passing. He was a super teacher. My boys liked him very much when he taught at wimbledon. He was a kind and caring person. He will be missed.

So so sorry for you both, Jason and Matt–he was such a neat guy and so concerned about his teachers and students when I taught with him at Chaffee. I know he was so happy to once again see your mom so there is joy in knowing that. Please stop in and see me some time; I would love to see you–God’s blessings and peace.
He was a kind man who helped me so much at school. He had so much patience with me while I was learning to speak English.

Mr. Ramberg was one of a kind! He is the teacher that always stands out when people say you know that one teacher you’ll never forget. That was him! Prayers to the family!
So sorry to hear! I still talk about stories from Mr. Ramberg. He was a fantastic man who always had the best interest of others in mind. I looked forward to his classes every day, and enjoyed my time sitting in his office visiting about anything and everything even more! RIP Mr. Ramberg! My thoughts and prayers are with you as you mourn your father’s passing and celebrate his life. Brian and I became good friends when I was a principal at Sheldon and later the superintendent at Leonard, you may remember me as I would pick your Dad up at the house in Chaffee when we would go to meetings together.
I only learned that you mother passed away four years ago in reading the guestbook.
Both your Dad and Mom were wonderful professionals who were student focused. I considered them good friends. Their legacy will live on for many generations through those students whose lives they impacted.

Way too Soon !! Brian was one of my best friends and classmates from the Edmore class of 69 . My sympathies to Brian’s family and friends . Brian and I had more fun . We drove around . We listened to the Beatles . We used brake fluid to make our tires blacker . I always Loved watching him play basketball for the Edmore Vikings . Brian, Ed, Kim, Darrel & Bob . An effective starting five to say the least . When staying overnight at his house we were awakened by his Mom Annie who hollored up the stairs … BRIAAAN !!! . Sleeping in was not an option . I will always remember Brian Lee Ramberg and the good times we shared .
To Jason, Matthew, and all of Brian’s family; my thoughts and prayers for peace, strength, and comfort go out to you at this time of loss. I graduated from Wimbledon-Courtenay in 2000 and I know Mr. Ramberg will be remembered by many people as a kind, helpful, caring teacher and principal who made his classes interesting and fun. I always looked forward to his classes and having him in study hall. He will be dearly missed, but remembered always.
Brian and his late wife Susan were friends of ours for many years. Kim was a year behind Brian and a year ahead of Susan at Edmore and they shared many memories as Susan’s mother and Kim’s mother were best friends. I met Susan at one of the Edmore 4th of July celebrations and we hit it off immediately. Our friendship grew when Kim [“Honey”] discovered that both Brian & Susan were at the Wimbledon Public School which was one of “his schools”. We hunted together, made venison jerky together, moved them from Wimbledon, visited them multiple times out west, and continued to keep in touch even after Susan passed away. The memories remain and mean a great deal.

Brian and I were good friends growing up, hunting, fishing, and running around together. I really didn’t see much of Brian since our high school years, but he will surely be missed.
My first year of counseling was Chaffee, Leondard, Lisbon, Sheldon, Lisbon, and Milnor. I started my week at Chaffee and it was such a delight to work with Bryan. He would always let me know who I needed to talk with, was well organized, and a true friend. Your dad had a unique personality. He told me once that someone came in to work on the copier. He received the bill for an hour’s work. He called the company up and told them that the repair person was there for 30 minutes, but they billed one hour. He let them know that next time he would put the repair person to work then for another 30 minutes doing school maintenance jobs. Truly a great administrator and friend.
Thoughts and prayers to the Ramberg family. May the memories of your parents bring you comfort during this difficult time. Some of my fondest school memories are when Mr and Mrs Ramberg were part of our young lives.
Jason and Matt, our thoughts and prayers are with you as you say goodbye to your dad. Joe and I both enjoyed him as a teacher, principal, and best sub ever! Probably learned more in one day if he subbed then on most days, he always made time to visit, care, and explain better then anyone we knew. They both will be missed by many in the Chaffee community. To Brian’s family – we send our sincere sympathies. Rod and I were high school classmates of Brian. Growing up in a small community you get to know each other well. And after reading many comments it seems Brian was a very respected man among friends and students. We are so sorry for your loss.

Susan and family, I have only recently learned of Brian’s death. I am so sorry for your loss. My family has such good memories of you and Brian and Jason, especially Adriene. She loved babysitting for you and we often talk of adorable little Jason and your family. I’ve hoped, since we moved back to North Dakota, that we might someday have an opportunity to talk with you and see how Jason has grown up. We loved our days at Mayville State. Again, I’m sorry for the loss of your husband and father and send sincere condolences. Our youngest child, Shawn, died almost two years ago and his memorial service was also at Boulger.
