Bruce Bergson
February 22, 1943 ~ January 17, 2017
Bruce Bergson passed away in his home peacefully surrounded by his family on January 17, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bruce was born on February 22, 1943 in Ulen, MN. He worked as a pipe insulator for Local 133 for 50 years. He was the business manager for 15 of those years. Bruce was in recovery and sober for 40 years. His recovery family was a major part of his life, and he touched many. Bruce was united in marriage to JoAnn on June 15, 2001. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren.
Bruce is survived by his wife, JoAnn; his children Jeff (Tracey), Rhonda (Karl) Kreutz; stepsons Steven (Jackie) Scherr, David (Kris) Scherr, Michael (Theresa) Scherr, Benjamin (Misty) Scherr; 26 grandchildren/great-children; former spouse Geri Mjoness; sister Lorraine Eklund and brother Duane. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents James and Lillian Bergson, and 4 brothers Jerome, Mervin, Mylan and Darold.
There will be a visitation from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Friday with a prayer service at 7:30 pm on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Boulger Funeral Home. There will be a Celebration of Bruce’s life at 11:00 am Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center.

Losing a loved ones in death is painful.
But coming soon is a time when there
will be no more death. Rev 21:3,4 and no
more sickness. At Isa 33:24 it talks about
no one say I’m sick. The world will be a
better place. Also there is going to be a
resurrection of dead loved ones too. At
Act 24:15 says And I have hope toward
God, which hope these men also look forward
to, that there is going to be a resurrection of
both the righteous and the unrighteous.

I am so sorry for your loss. Bruce was one of my closest friends when living in Bismarck. He helped me many, many times. Bruce was a kind man, always full of humor, but also serious when it came down to living a good spiritual life. I know he will be missed by many.

Saddened to read of Bruce’s death. Bruce was on of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.

I only spoke with Bruce after Milans funeral. I knew Duane and Jerry and Milan, Milan was like a father to me. Duane was a hoot while working on the Econolodge in Fargo in 1984. I know in the end you will all be reunited together as a family. It is so hard loosing people you love. Hold on to knowing you will be reunited. Prayers for your loss. Sincerely Jim Johnson
Bruce Bergson and I were brother-in-laws in 60’s and our good friendship has never diminished. When ever we crossed paths over these many years, he always left me with a heartfelt smile! That’s just who he was, what a friend! The pain his family is going through is beyond words. I am so sorry. Steve Olson

Dear Joanne and family,
We knew Bruce for over 30 years and we will miss him so much. He had a great sense of humor and never hesitated to laugh at himself and laugh with us. Bruce was an integral part of the recovery community, and I can still hear him say ‘Hey, old timer”. His spirit with be with us always and know that he made a difference in our lives. I imagine Bruce having coffee at the “big’ meeting, and greeting old friends.I know you will miss him every day, and we will be here to love and support you, and will walk with you through this.
Bruce was a kind hearted man and a great friend. We trudged the same road together for many years and shared the ups and downs of life. I’ll miss him and his banter.
I’m sorry we can’t be there to celebrate grandpa Bruce’s life today. But know that we love you all so much. He was a truly wonderful man who will be missed by everyone.
