Bruce passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at his farm home near Hillsboro, ND at the age of 78. Bruce Ellis Dahlstrom was born on October 25, 1939 in Fargo, ND, to Helge Peder and Evelyn Gladys (Dullum) Dahlstrom. He grew up on the home farm near Hillsboro, ND, attended Kelso School through eighth grade, and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1957. He played various sports for the Burros, but most enjoyed coming home on spring afternoons to help his dad with field work. Bruce joined the Air National Guard in 1963 and served for six years. Farming was his consuming interest: even a truck/semi accident at age thirty only temporarily stopped his work, although his injury affected his health the rest of his life. Bruce loved his home and garden, and his pets through the years, especially his five collies and currently Abby, his neighbor, who visited him often. He enjoyed short road trips, especially to look for western art. Bruce was a good son, brother, uncle and neighbor. He was loved and respected, He died Saturday, April 7, 2018, in his home at the age of 78. His greatest sorrow in life was losing his brother, Bryan, to cancer in 2008. He is survived by his sister, Mary and Frank Rouland of Crownsville, MD; niece Christine and Tom Willis of Temecula, CA, and their children Luke and Caroline; nephew Aaron and Erin Rouland of Saratoga, CA, and their children Henry, Mary Ann, Augustine, Phinehas and Evelyn; nephew Joseph and Brienne Rouland of Woodbine, MD, and their children Wyatt, Josephine and Genevieve; and niece Beth (Dahlstrom) and Darin Walters of Grand Forks, ND, and their children James, Reese and Halle Kate, He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Victoria Dahlstrom of Hillsboro. He meets in heaven his parents and his brother Bryan. Funeral: 2:00 Friday, April 13, 2018 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro Visitation: one hour prior to the service in the church on Friday Burial: Riverside Cemetery in Hillsboro

    He was a kind man. Our sympathy to all of you who will miss him. Blessings as you share a day of celebrating his life.
