CJ Zimney, 88, Gardner, passed peacefully in his sleep, early Sunday morning, October 4th, in Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo. Visitation at St. Williams Catholic Church, Argusville, ND, Tuesday, October 6, from 5 -7:30 with a Prayer Service at 7:30. The funeral will be held at St. Williams at 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 7th. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Fargo. Casimir Joseph Zimney was born June 5, 1921, in Windsor, ND. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. On July 3, 1945, he was united in marriage to Ruby Linstaedt in Jamestown, ND. They moved to Gardner in 1953 where CJ worked in the grain elevator industry until his retirement in 1986. For the next 20 years he did spring and harvest field work for Richard Jones, Gardner, and then for his son-in-law, Jim Elliott, Grandin. CJ enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, woodworking, horseshoes, bowling, golfing, Twins and Vikings ballgames. He was a man of deep faith and had been a member of St. Williams Catholic Church since 1953. Survivors include: His wife of 64 years, Ruby, children; Donna Jean (Jim) Elliott of Grandin, Don (Ardis) of West Fargo, Reynard (Jackie) of Pierze, MN, Bob (Nancy) of Grand Forks, Dale (Marge) of Boise, ID and Vickie (Randy) Wolden of West Fargo; 18 grand children, 19 great-grandchildren and sister Margaret (Al) Neva of Shelby, MT.
