Carl Heuer, age 75, died Friday, February 25, 2004 in Manor Care, Fargo, ND. Carl Clifford Heuer was born on April 11th, 1929 at St. John=s Hospital in Fargo. He was the son of Adolph and Esther Hans Heuer. Adolph Paul Heuer was born Jan. 5th 1900. Esther Mable Hans was born November 3rd, 1904. He died in 1951 and Esther August 2nd, 2002. Carl was baptized on the grandfather Carl Heuer=s farm near Leonard. After his father=s death he was confirmed and married and was a lifetime member of the Canaan Moravian Church near Davenport, ND. He attended High School at Davenport and graduated in 1947. He attended one year at NDSU and after his father=s death took over the farming interest of the family farm. On February 14th, 1954 he married Wilma Miller of Durbin, ND where they made their home in Davenport. Two children were born to them - Paul of Fargo and Lori Ann who died of a heart condition on March 18th, 1961 (Eight months of age). Carl was a faithful member of his church and served as a trustee, Elder, and sang in the choir. He was a member of the Davenport Fire Department and held the job of Fire Chief from 1959 to 1960. Also he held a job on the Town Board at Davenport. He was a good friend and liked to help out his neighbors who were in need of equipment or help with farming. He loved the land and enjoyed watching the seeds grow as well as enjoyed the harvest of the grain. From 1979 to 1986 they spent winter months in their home at Mesa, Arizona. In 1986 he underwent open heart and got along well until 1991 when he had his first stroke plus diabetes. In 1999 a second stroke took place taking a toll on his health some more. He was at home a year until he became a patient at Manor Care home in Fargo. He resided there five years. He retired from farming in 1994 and the family moved to Fargo in 1998. Carl enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a wonderful father and husband. He was preceded in death by his father Adolph, his mother Esther, and his daughter Lori Ann, and sister-in-law Delores Buchholz. Carl is survived by his wife Wilma, his son Paul, and his sister Ruby Forbes and six nieces and nephews. The funeral for Carl Heuer will be Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at Canaan Moravian Church, rural Davenport, ND at 2pm. The prayer service will be at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at 7pm. Visitation will be from 4-7pm Tuesday. Burial will be at the Canaan Moravian Cemetery.
