Carla Truitt passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family and under the care of hospice of the red river valley. Carla Truitt was born on March 2, 1964 in Jamestown to Loretta Rae and Gerald Jacob Schumacher. She grew up in North Dakota and Montana, graduating from high school in 1983 from Central Cass in Casselton. Carla attended Joseph’s Beauty School. On August 6, 1988, Carla married Arlen Truitt at Flame of Faith Methodist Church in West Fargo. They made their home in Fargo. Carla provided home daycare in her home until her bout with cancer. She is survived by her spouse Arlen; children: LaTonya, Danielle and Zachary; father Gerry (Sue) Schumacher and mother Loretta Keisacker; and two brothers Arlyn and Joel. There will be a celebration of Carla’s life at 10:00 am Saturday at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center with visitation from 9:00 to 10:00 Saturday.

  5. My heart just broke when I heard the news! No greater friend could ever be. I am so happy you were in my life for this brief time. You made my heart sing so often as we were growing up together. Even though we didn’t see one another everyday, when we did it was just like it was yesterday. We shared many joys and sorrows. This time you will have to do this on your own and may we meet again in God’s own time.

  10. Although Carla and I never met, we’ve been Facebook Friends since October of 2014. We met online playing Farmville and got to know each through a game. Sharing posts, comments and chats, I got to know Carla as a warm and caring person, full of life and love. She shared things she was going through and about her family and what was important to her. She was a beacon of hope and will truly be missed. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends. No longer in pain, Carla is now in God’s big farm in Heaven, where things actually work. Thanks for being a good friend and a terrific farmer, forever helping those in need…

  11. oh Carla, you are badly missed each day on facebook, not seeing your name is hard, i read all the messages we sent each other over the years and it makes me smile, you were such a generous and lovely person, always there if anyone needed help, i will miss you so much my friend X

  12. Rest in peace I only knew you through FB but you were a lady. I mentioned you at our school church service in Ireland. I spoke about how I found you on FB & that you were always there right up to the end to help anyone or give then a special word that would make their day. You made my day many times when I was down. I will keep fighting right up until the end. Rest in peace.
