Carlyn Leona (Harding) Smith Samberg Caryln Leona Samberg, age, 97, died peacefully on February 11 at Bethany Homes, Fargo under the care of her family, Hospice of the Red River Valley and Bethany staff. Carlyn (Tallie) Harding was born April 27, 1909 to James and Lillie May (French) Harding. She was the eighth born of thirteen children. Following graduation from McHenry High School she attended Minot Teachers College. On October 13, 1929 Carlyn wed William H. Smith in New Rockford, ND where they owned and operated Midway City Creamery. They were married 27 ? years. On May 28, 1958 she married Arlo Samberg. They were married 35 years and made their home in Carrington, ND following retirement. Tallie was a talented seamstress who enjoyed sewing for others, especially her two daughters and grandchildren. She loved music, dancing, playing games, especially playing Yahtzee, and the daily crossword puzzle. She will be remembered for her gentleness, sharp wit, and her devotion to family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands and an infant son, Billie Lee Smith. Carlyn is survived by two daughters, Ramona (Andrew) Koepplin of Fargo, ND; Lillian (Wayne, deceased) Twamley of Fargo, ND; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and sixteen great-great grandchildren. Visitation: Wednesday February 14, 2007 from 5 to 9 pm at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND. Funeral: Thursday February 15, 2007 at 11:00 am at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND.
