Carol Holm

Carol Ann Marilyn Holm, 83, Fargo, ND passed away peacefully on October 19, 2018 at Eventide in Fargo, under the care of Hospice.
Carol was born March 9, 1935 in Traill County, ND to Garfield and Esther (Langaunet) Kozojed. She graduated from Halstad High School in 1953. On March 12, 1954 she was united in marriage to Lowell Holm in Halstad, MN. The couple made their home in Fargo where they raised their two children until building a home in Brooktree Park, Harwood, ND where they lived for 39 years until moving back to Fargo in 2003.
Carol worked for the General Motors Corporation for 35 years. After retiring from General Motors she worked for real estate offices in Fargo retiring from Town and Country Real Estate at the age of 81. Carol loved to decorate whether it be painting or wallpapering or decorating for each holiday, especially Christmas, which was her favorite time of year. Carol loved her family dearly. She loved to entertain and enjoyed weekends at their lake home on Lake Eunice watching her children and grandchildren enjoy the lake but her greatest joy was being with them.
Carol is survived by her husband of 64 years, Lowell; daughter, Candace (Robert) Carson, Jr. of Fargo; son, Bradley (Vicki) Holm of Fargo; granddaughters, Lindsay (Brandon) Topp of Eden Prairie, MN and Kaitlyn (Jace) Foss of Fargo; and step-grandson, Jeremy (Monica) Carson of Marlborough, MA; her great-grandchildren, Ryker and Bergen Topp; sisters, Gwen Holland of Dilworth, MN and Rose (Robert) Knudtson of Moorhead; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Doris Pitman and Betty Dunford; and several in-laws.
There will be a memorial service at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, Fargo with a visitation one hour prior.

I am so sorry to hear about Carol. As a young college graduate I was lucky enough to work with Carol at Chevrolet Motor Division. She was a classy lady that was always so kind to me. I later reconnected with her after I began working with her niece, Kim Werlinger. Peace and prayers to Carol’s family.

Sorry to hear and read of Carol’s passing. We remember you both fondly during our lives together as neighbors in Brooktree Park and some of the tribulations and gatherings we had at the time. Carol was always so pleasant and caring – especially with her home décor talents at Christmas time. So sad to hear about Carol’s passing. It was such a joy working with her at Town & Country Realty. She was wonderful inside and out and such a great assistant to me! Her sharp mind and attention to detail was unmatched and very much appreciated! Her kind heart and beautiful soul are and will be missed every day. She was the classiest lady I know! So sorry to hear of the loss of Carol. She was a wonderful person, who had great charm. She was a classy lady who raised a family of special people! I’m so privileged to have known her, but especially to have participated in friendships with her family. Looking at my own life, your family has enhanced me both professionally and personally. Carol was a wonderful and caring person. I had the privledge of working with her at Real Estate
services and Town and Country Realty for many years, and being her friend.
She loved her family and loved talking about her grand kids and great grandkids.
I especially loved coming to her home at Christmas time and see how she had decorated. WOW! Her house was dripping with decorations, inside and out! I even bought my boys out to see her and Lowell’s Christmas Village that was set up in their family room – they were captivated by it! We all marveled at her decorating skills.
Carol was a special lady and will be missed.

My condolences to you and your family on the passing of Carol. I was always so very impressed with Carol’s true professionalism and her deep love and devotion to her family. I had lost my mother in recent years and read an article that said we may have lived enough years to be an adult but we will always be a child in relation to our parents. Even if one day we find ourselves “parenting our parents” before their deaths, it is the parent of our youth and childhood the we lay to rest. May god be with you Carol. I will miss our chats.

I am so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. I know how close you were to your Mom. Hold tight to those beautiful memories and with time it does help the hurt a bit. Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
Carol was such a gracious person. Her tasteful seasonal decorations gave our Brooktree neighborhood a welcome greeting as we passed by and were a gift of hospitality whenever we gathered in their home. Her wave and smile, as we would meet coming and going to work, brightened the day. We know her passing will leave a huge void for family, friends, and long-time co-workers. Although it’s been a long- time, since our paths have crossed, we cherish the memories and pray for the legacy of love that she leaves as a model for us all. We are so sorry we are unable to join Lowell, family and friends in celebration of Carol’s life on Saturday.
