Carol Johansen

Carol Ann Johansen, age 68, of Fargo, ND, died in her home Saturday, July 19, 2008. Carol was born November 27, 1939 in Bordulac, ND, the daughter of Frederick and Jeannette (Messmer) Partlow. She grew up in Bordulac, ND and attended school there. She was an All State Basketball player. After she graduated High School in 1958, she began working as a secretary for the Nativity Catholic School. Carol married Gordon Johansen on November 1, 1958 in Carrington where they lived until moving to Fargo in 1961. She worked for Nativity School for 46 years and along side her husband Gordy, at the time of her death she was the school administrator. Carol loved her job because it gave her the opportunity to be around children at Nativity Elementary School. She cherished spending time with her two grandsons. She also enjoyed hunting and fishing especially with her grandsons. She spent many summer days with her family at Spirit Lake, ND and Star Lake, MN. Carol is survived by her son, Dean (Vicki) Johansen, Fargo; two grandsons, Blake and Erik Johansen, Fargo; her mother, Jeannette Partlow, Fargo, ND; brothers, Mark (Shirley) Partlow, Fargo, ND, Dave Partlow, Fargo, ND, Fred Partlow, Jr., St. Louis, MO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon on October 19, 2000; her father, Frederick and brother, Don. Visitation: Wednesday 6-7 p.m. - Church of the Nativity, Fargo. Prayer Service: Wednesday 7 p.m. - Church of the Nativity. Funeral: Thursday 10:00 a.m. - Church of the Nativity. Burial: Thursday 3:30 pm - Pingree Cemetery, Pingree, North Dakota. In Lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to the Nativity Catholic School Pathfinders, or Sisters of the Presentation.
