Carol Smith

Carol J. Smith, 60, Fargo passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Sanford Health, Fargo following a lifelong battle with Lupus.

Carol was born on April 18, 1952 in LaMoure, ND to Charles and Helen (Klima) Roth. Carol was raised on the family farm near Verona, ND graduating from Verona High School in 1970. Carol graduated from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Fargo in 1973. She worked as a registered nurse at St. Luke’s in the Pediatric Department for 20 years, rounding out her nursing career of 32 years.

Carol married Douglas Smith on April 14, 1973 at High Prairie Lutheran Church, rural LaMoure, ND. They made their home in Fargo with their two children, Erica and Shawn.

One of Carol’s passions was reading. She enjoyed reading anything, including Danielle Steele and J.D. Rob. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her husband Doug, Fargo, ND; mother, Helen, Fargo, ND; children, Erica (Robert) Jodsaas, St. Cloud, MN, and Shawn, Fargo, ND; sister, Nancy (Tom) Christensen, Verona, ND; grandchildren, Christina and Mya, numerous nieces and nephews and their families and her beloved dog, Beau.

Carol was preceded in death by her father, Charles; and sisters, Mary Ann, and Barbara.

Carol’s family would like to thank all of her friends and family for their kind words and prayers during this difficult time.
