Carole Ziegler

Carole was delivered into the arms of her loving Savior on May 2, 2017 at the Sheyenne Crossings Care Center in West Fargo. Carole Evonne Ulven was born on March 18, 1938 in Fargo, ND, the daughter of Clarence and Edith (Kile) Ulven. She grew up on the family farm near Christine, ND where she received her education graduating from Christine High School. Carole attended Concordia College in Moorhead as well as Dakota Business College in Fargo. Carole was united in marriage to Gilbert Ziegler on March 17, 1963 at Richland Lutheran Church near Walcott, ND. Together they made their home in Fargo where they raised their son. Carole worked for Hecktner Insurance in Fargo and later for Northern States Power Company in Fargo. She made her career at Diagnostic Medical Systems in Fargo where she worked for 27 years until her retirement. She kept busy following her retirement by working part-time at the Longfellow School cafeteria in Fargo, a job she truly enjoyed. Carole will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and a good friend to many. She was the caregiver for all of her family and loved serving them. Many conversations and memories were shared while enjoying her wonderful cookies, bars and coffee. She loved making the Holidays the most wonderful time for her family. Her home was always filled with food, laughter and love. Carole loved playing horseshoe and was inducted to the North Dakota Hall of Fame along with her husband. She also enjoyed playing cards and dominoes, camping trips, traveling, and occasional trips to the casino. Carole very much enjoyed life. Carole is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Gilbert of Fargo; her son, Todd (Brenda) Ziegler of Parker, CO; her two beloved grandchildren – Stephanie (Dalton) Bradford of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Tyler (Allie) Ziegler of Fort Collins, CO; her great-granddaughter, Olivia Grace Bradford; her adored sister, Geri (Myron) Lauritsen of Wheatland, ND; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2 PM Saturday at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center in Fargo – with a gathering one hour prior BURIAL: North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, ND In lieu of flowers, Carole wishes that any donations be made to the Hope Lutheran Church Foundation.
