Hi Doug and family—I want to express my condolences with Carol’s passing. I am a nurse on the Sanford Cardiac Progressive Care Unit and was fortunate to get to know Carol over recent years. I remember Carol always being positive and interested in others, even when she probably wasn’t feeling well. I know you were all so special to her—and most often when I saw Carol Doug was there with her. Carol and I agreed that there is never enough time for all of the reading we had to do! Thinking of each of you—Mary

Carol and I spent many hours working side by side in the Pediatrics department of several clinics. She always had a smile on her face and never complained even though I am sure she didn’t feel good many days. She was faithful, thorough and kind in every patient encounter. Carol will be missed but fondly remembered. Smith family you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Even through all her health problems, she kept her sense of humor and enjoyed life. We vacationed with Carol and Doug in Cancun – she enjoyed traveling and didn’t want to miss anything. We will sure miss her. We send our deepest sympathy to Doug and the family.
