Caroll passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at the age of 77, at Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead, MN, surrounded by her loving family. Caroll Ann Wiger was born on August 16, 1941, the daughter of Orville and June (Larson) Wiger in Fargo, ND. Her mother died very young and after her high school graduation, she stayed home and help take care of her brother and sisters. Caroll was united in marriage to David Manger on December 3, 1960. They made their home on the family farm in Bloomfield Township, near Blanchard, ND, where they farmed for many years and raised their family. David passed away in 1994 and Caroll moved into Hillsboro the following year. Most recently Caroll had made her home in Fargo, first living at Waterford and Edgewood Vista, and at Eventide in Moorhead. Throughout the years, Caroll was very active in her churches, first at Blanchard Lutheran and later at Our Savior’s Lutheran in Hillsboro. She was baptized, confirmed, and married at Our Savior’s Lutheran where she was very proud to have been a part of the Ladies Aid, a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Church Choir and dedicated member of the Bible Study. She enjoyed her time spent at the Hillsboro Golf Course where she played Whist and Bridge and loved to dance with her husband at the Eagles. In her earlier years she was involved with 4-H and the local Homemaker’s Club. Knitting, shopping trips, drives in the country, time at the lakes and her lunch dates where always favorites. Her weekly letters she received from her sisters were also a very special highlight. She enjoyed phone calls to and from all of her family members and had a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Caroll is survived by her three daughters – Janet (Otto Bertsch Jr.) Thompson of Hillsboro; Jean Manger of Fargo; and Jayne (Duane) Judisch of Hunter, ND; five very special grandchildren – Alex (Brittany) Thompson, Renda (Shawn) Savage, Quinn Yahnke, Abby Judisch, and Danielle Judisch; and six great-grandchildren – Joel, Eli, Autumn, Oliver, Jessie, and Elena. Also surviving are her siblings – Janice (Elwood) Wiger, Peggy Eblen, Galen (flo) Wiger, Marilyn (Jim) Arneson, Debbie (Mike) McNamee, and Becky (Russ) Pederson; brother-in-law, Ralph Manger; sisters-in-law, Marlys Butler and Mary (Bill) Coe; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her parents-in-law, Melius and Elsie Manger; her husband, her brother-in-law, David Eblen, and her infant brother, Gary. Memorials are preferred to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro.
