Catherine Christensen

Catherine Kate Christensen, 92, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Detroit Lakes, MN and Sioux Falls, SD, passed away Saturday April 18th, 2020 at Eventide Sheyenne Crossings in West Fargo, ND, while under the care of Ethos Hospice. Kate was born June 18th, 1927 in Minneapolis, MN to Harold and Marguerite Fox.  She attended high school in Sioux City, IA and graduated college from University of South Dakota, Vermillion.  In 1950 she was united in marriage to Gordon Chris Christensen. They spent the majority of their years in Sioux Falls, SD where their two children, Julie and Stephen were raised.   In 1974 they purchased the cabin at Lake Melissa, Detroit Lakes, MN, where they spent their retirement years with their beloved lake friends and family.  Kate enjoyed golfing, walking, biking, playing cards and sitting in the sun on the dock. Kate is survived by her daughter, Julie Adams, and son Stephen (Joann) Christensen, all of Fargo.  Grandchildren, Melissa (Jeff) Adams Goihl, Rochester, MN.  LeighAnn (Jamie) Knopp, Fargo, ND. Carly (Dan) Buchman, Ham Lake, MN, and David (special friend Oliva) West Fargo, ND.  And seven greatgrand children, Avery Schatz, Anastacia and Ruby Goihl, Lucas Knopp, and Kevin, Mason and Harrison Buchman.  Kate was proceeded in death by her husband Chris, her parents, baby sister Mary Jane, and granddaughter Selina Kay. There will be a family funeral service at a later date, with final resting place next to Chris at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Detroit Lakes. Cremation services by Boulger Funeral Home.  Any memorials preferred to Ethos Home Care and Hospice of Fargo, ND.
