Cathleen Martin, age 53, Fargo, died Tuesday, October 12, 2004, in MeritCare Palliative Care Unit in Fargo. We can?t believe she is gone. We all loved her and will miss her forever. Cathleen Mary Alice Sorenson was born on April 27, 1951, in Bismarck, ND, the daughter of LeRoy and Marian (Witte) Sorenson. She attended school in Bismarck and graduated as a Registered Nurse in May 1973. Cathy met and married the love of her life, Dave Martin. They were married on October 27, 1973 and were dedicated to each other. Cathy and Dave would have celebrated 31 years of married life this October 27th. They enjoyed traveling, sailing, reading, planning theme parties and spending time with friends in Fargo and at Horseshoe Bay. Cathy is survived by her husband, Dave, and her beloved daughter Laura Elizabeth. Cathy is also survived by her parents Marian Sorenson of Bismarck and LeRoy Sorenson of Hamilton, MT; four brothers, Eric (Dora) Sorenson of Scottsdale, AZ, Ken (Donna) Sorenson of Bismarck, Pat (Judy) Sorenson of Broomfield, CO, and Steve (Melinda) Sorenson of Bloomington, MN; two sisters, Ann (John) Pate of Wadena, MN, and Jean (Richard) Kelso of Redlands, CA; six nieces, Heather, Sarah, Catherine, Carina, Mary, and Christie; four nephews, Michael, Zach, Joey and Andrew. Her son Benjamin David, her brother Kyle John Sorenson, and her grandparents preceded her in death. Cathy and Dave have a wide circle of friends who were very much like family; Naomi and Curt, Carol and Ralph, Suzanne and Greg, Sheena and Jon, Gayle and Harry, and Bev and Al. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Suzanne G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75444. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. in Church of the Holy Spirit, Fargo. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held in the church on Friday one hour prior to the service.
