Obituary

Cecilia E. Klatt, age 92, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Villa Maria Nursing Home in Fargo.

Ceal was born on September 6, 1926, in Lott, Texas. At a young age her family moved to Courtney, ND where Ceal was raised and went to school. After her schooling she worked on a farm near Casselton, ND where she met Cecil J. Klatt. They were married on October 11, 1947. Shortly after they moved to Kindred, ND where they lived and worked most of their lives.

Ceal enjoyed spending time with friends and family, tending to her beautiful flower beds, and her precious cats. She was an active member of St. Maurice’ s Catholic Church in Kindred until she moved to Fargo in 2017.

Ceal is survived by her daughter, Jackie (Hal) Rosenheim of Fargo; and two sons – Alan (Nancy) Klatt of Grand Forks, ND; and Steven Klatt of Fargo. Also surviving are her four grandchildren – Jill (Sylvain) Lesne’, Brian (Jennifer) Klatt, John Klatt, and Shawn Klatt; and one great-grandchild, Nolan Klatt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil; and her son, Wayne Klatt.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials directed to Villa Maria Nursing Home in Fargo.

The family would like to offer a very special thank you to all of the wonderful staff at Villa Maria and to Dr. Harris Ali from Sanford for the loving care and compassion shown to Ceal.

There will be a visitation held from 2-4 PM Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Fredrikson-Boulger Funeral Chapel in Kindred, ND – with a Memorial Service at 3 PM. Burial will take place at a later date at the Kindred Cemetery.

My heart goes out to Ceal’s family. Ceal was an important part of my childhood. She would sometimes help Mom with housework and since all my older siblings were in school, Ceal became my buddy. The affection continued as I grew. She went to our church and I thought it was really special if I could sit next to her at Mass. I also remember her letting me choose a Barbie Doll outfit at a store. My favorite memory is when I had a small incident on the school bus and I held in all my emotions until I got home. As soon as I was in the house my sobbing began. Ceal listened and said, “Would you like a cheese sandwich?” and suddenly all my tears were replaced with a smile. Ceal will always have a warm place in my heart.
