Cecil passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2005 , at MeritCare Palliative Care Unit in Fargo, North Dakota, at the age of 83.
Cecil was born on July 13, 1921, the daughter of Gideon and Marian Cossette in Horace, North Dakota. She grew up in this area and attended school.
Cecil was united in marriage to Ralph Thompson on January 20, 1944, at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Wild Rice. They made their home in the Blanchard area where they raised their family and farmed for many years. Ralph died on October 29, 1987.
Cecil is survived by her children, LeRoy Thompson of Issaquah, Washington; Leonard (Nell) Thompson of Blanchard; Roger (Ann) Thompson of Hillsboro, North Dakota; and Kathy Thompson of Grafton, North Dakota; 7 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Morris (Inez) Cossette of Moorhead, Minnesota; Leo (Julie) Cossette of Scottsdale, Arizona; and Clarence Cossette of Madison, Wisconsin; 8 nieces and 16 nephews.
Cecil was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph; her daughter, Charlene; her sisters, Rose Husby and Vi Robert; and her brothers, Saul and Ernest Cossette.
FUNERAL MASS: 10 AM Friday, April 22, 2005 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Hunter, North Dakota
VISITATION: 4-7 PM Thursday at Wildeman Funeral Home in Hillsboro and also one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Friday
PRAYER SERVICE: 7 PM Thursday at Wildeman Funeral Home in Hillsboro
BURIAL: Hunter Cemetery in Hunter, North Dakota
