Charles D. Holmstrom, 81, Fargo, ND formerly of Gwinner, ND passed away August 14, 2018 at Eventide, Fargo. Chuck was the middle child of seven children, born July 21, 1937 to Oscar and Anna (Jacobson) Holmstrom of Gwinner and grew up on the family farm north of town. He graduated from Gwinner High School in 1955. He and Carol Larson were married August 19, 1961. Chuck, Carol, and their daughter, Rita made their home in Gwinner. Chuck served in the U.S. Army for two years, spending 14 months in Korea and was honorably discharged. He came back to Gwinner and worked for Melroe Co., now Bobcat, for 41 years. Chuck was the last of the original Ten Club that was organized to promote Gwinner. Later that membership became Gwinner Community Development Corporation. Chuck was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed trap shooting, bowling, auction sales, square dancing, golf, and traveling. Chuck and Carol moved to Fargo in August 2013 when his health became a major issue. He was on kidney dialysis for 8 years. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, John, Bill, and Howard; sister, Naomi (Del) Nelson; and brothers-in-law, Maurice Endersbe, Al Schudar, and Allen Larson. Chuck is survived by his wife, Carol and daughter, Rita; sisters, Marie Endersbe and Cindy Schudar; sisters in law, Irma Holmstrom, Lorraine Holmstrom, Joyce Holmstrom, and Gloria Larson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
