Charles Francis Koesterman was born to Lyle and Carol Koesterman in Rapid City South Dakota, August 12, 1955. Since then, the family has lived in Larimore, Golden Lake and Fargo ND. Charles graduated from Fargo South High in 1973. In High School he was involved in Civil Air Patrol, which continued well into his adult life. Through Civil Air Patrol he earned his private pilots license and attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He enlisted in the Air Force after High School and was honorably discharged in 1975. After leaving the USAF he owned and operated K&L Construction in Bismarck ND. It was the construction work that brought out his love for fine woodworking, which he enjoyed until his death. He attended school at Bismarck State College, NDSU, and the UND Medical School. Charles worked in computer related fields as owner of 21st Publishers, and as an employee at Bell Farms, and the USDA. Charles was a much loved son, brother, favorite uncle and friend. He was very active in local politics and the Gay Pride of Fargo-Moorhead. He will be dearly missed. Charles is survived by his mother, Carol Koesterman, Fargo; A sister, Mary (Rex) Richey Cheyenne, WY; brothers Chris, Fargo; Lynn, Miami, FL; Mike (Susan,) Moorhead; Spencer (Lisa,) Mekinock, ND and many nephews, nieces, one great nephew and two great nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Lyle Koesterman and his sister, Carolyn Koesterman. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 3:00pm in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
