Charlie Mann, 67, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Langdon, ND, died of cancer Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, surrounded by family. Charles Richard Mann was born May 24, 1950 at Langdon, ND, the son of Thomas and Mary (Machacek) Mann. He graduated from Alsen High School in 1968 and attended Mayville State College. He married Monica “Dee Dee” Rosland in 1971 in Hampden, ND. He served in the United States Army 1971 to 1974, mainly in Germany. His career with the Post Office took them to many places including Landon, Hatton, Roseau, Watertown, and Bemidji. After retiring in Bemidji he worked part-time at the license center. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Langdon and Bethel Lutheran in Bemidji. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and served as commander in Langdon. He was also a member of the Eagles. He was on the Board of Directors of Let’s Go Fishing in Bemidji and had just joined the organization in Detroit Lakes. He enjoyed volunteering at the VA Hospital in Fargo. He was survived by his wife Monica “Dee Dee,” his son Wade (Amy) of Bismarck, his daughter Jennifer (Nathan) Kirkeby of Fargo, his granddaughters Marissa, Maria, Gabrielle, his grandsons Tanner, Max, Landon, his parents Thomas and Mary Mann of Langdon, his brothers Duane (Sherry) of Grand Forks, James (Brenda) of Williston, Philip (Colleen) of Cicero, IN, Michael (Terrie) of Thompson, his sister Mary Jane (Dan) Moravec of Wabasha, MN, brother-in-law Wayne Rosland, Glendale AZ, numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by father-in-law and mother in law, Jon and Viola Rosland, brothers-in-law James, William, and Richard Rosland. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to a charity of the donor's choice.

  10. I was shocked and saddened to hear of Charley’s passing. He was way too young and had so much to offer this world. I worked with him at the USPS and he was always so kind, helpful and more than happy to help whenever and wherever he could. The world has lost a great person and he will be sadly missed. My sympathy and prayers for his wife and family.

I always appreciated his sense of humor and his patience with my mistakes. I have the highest respect for him. Countless folks have said how they also appreciated him at the DMV.     I am so sorry to hear of Charlie’s passing. He was a great guy and have known him back to days growing up in Hampden and Alsen. Cancer is a horrible disease that affects too many people and takes those we love way too early in life. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

DeeDee, Bob and i have just heard of Charlie’s passing, our prayers and deepest sympathies go to you and your family. we have only known you two a couple of winter seasons, but it just seemed like we have had you as friends for a long time. you two were meant for H street at the Resort in Mesa,Arizona. We will certainly miss him. he always had a warm and very friendly smile and was there when you needed him. God does take the best . Our deepest condolences to you and your family.
