Clarice Jahr

Clarice E. Jahr, 87 of Ulen, MN, died Friday, January 1, 2010 at Innovis Health in Fargo. Clarice was born in Radisson, Saskatchewan, Canada on April 12, 1922 to Carl and Ella Knutson. She grew up and graduated from high school in Ulen. She married Howard Gibson in 1940 in Portal, ND and the couple lived in Ulen. Howard died in 1959. Clarice was a church secretary at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ulen and also a doctor’s assistant for Dr. Saxman in Ulen after completing a course at St. Ansgar’s in Moorhead. She married Donald Jahr on November 28, 1963 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ulen. Clarice volunteered at Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead for several years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; her parents; infant son; grandchildren, Dwayne Gibson and Virginia Gibson;her great-granddaughter, Alexis Taylor; and two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter in infancy. Clarice is survived by her husband, Donald of Ulen, MN; son, H. Clair “Gib” (Melanie) Gibson of Middleburg, FL; daughters, Marsha Kay (Richard) Olson of Ulen, MN, Julie Anne (John) Anderson of Hitterdal, MN; son, John D. Jahr of Willmar, MN; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Knutson of Sudbury, Ontario; sister, Eileen Mathiason of Bloomington, MN; brother, Ellis (Lorraine) Knutson of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Visitation: Tuesday, January 5 from 4-7 pm at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Prayer Service: Tuesday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral Service: Wednesday, January 6 at 11:00 am at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ulen, MN. Interment: Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Hitterdal, MN. Arrangements entrusted to Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
