Cleo Brown

Cleo Nicholas Brown, 77, passed away Monday September 17, 2018 at Sanford Health, Fargo. Cleo was born February 6, 1941 to Nick and Ella (Zick) Brown in Fargo, ND. He attended school in Leonard graduating in 1960. After high school, he worked on the farm for most of his life and then for North Dakota Highway Patrol Truck Regulatory for 15 years. Then came back to farm with his brother, Clayton. He married Penny Nelson May 16, 1970 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Fargo. They made their home in Leonard from 1974 to present. He was also a longtime volunteer for the Leonard Fire Department. Cleo loved spending time with family, friends, and his animals. He will be missed by many. Cleo is survived by his wife, Arla “Penny” Brown; children, Nicholas Brown, Corey Brown, Jodie Brown; grandsons, Carson and Jacob Brown; siblings, Clayton Brown, Connie Nennig, Pat (Walter) Porgorzelski, James (Laverne) Brown; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Cleo is preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Ella Brown; daughter, Jaime Brown; and siblings, Hank Wulff, Dean Wulff, Jerry Brown, Clair Brown.
