Clifford Hendrickson, 76, of Kindred, ND, died unexpectedly on Sunday, March 7, 2009 at his home.
Clifford, son of Fred and Marie (Stenhjem) Hendrickson was born on April 7, 1932 in Kindred. He attended the Tuskind School in rural NormannaTownship.
Farming was Clifford?s passion and even though he was physically handicapped, he always found a way to compensate and often said, ?I can do anything anyone else can, it just takes me a little longer!? When his father died in 1983 he continued to farm until a hip fracture in 1992 forced him to retire. He continued to find joy in assisting his renter whenever possible. Summer found his lawn impeccable and in the winter, the snow was blown almost before it had a chance to settle.
Through the years he made many new friends, treasuring each and every one. The rhubarb he grew and gave away often returned to him in the form of pies, crisps, muffins, etc. He also enjoyed working out in his wooded lot making trails, sawing and chopping.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Norman Selid. He is survived by his sister, Loraine H. Selid, Fargo, ND; niece, Janis Brenner and her son, Delany, Minneapolis, MN; and a number of cousins.
?Well done though good and faithful servant. Rest in peace.?
The Funeral will be on Friday, March 13, 2009 at the Norman Lutheran Church, rural Kindred, ND at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be at the Kindred Cemetery at a later date.
