Curtis passed away on September 26, 2014 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo surrounded by his loving family.

Curtis was born on July 17, 1922, the son of John and Lena (Holm) Jalbert near Grandin, North Dakota. He grew up in this area and attended school. At an early age he began working on the family farm near Grandin, and later worked for his uncle and cousin, Arnold and Louie Jalbert. He also worked on the Ice Gang, and at an early age served in the Conservation Corp. Curt was united in marriage to Phyllis Peterson on November 3, 1951. They made their home near Mayville, where they farmed, later moving to Fargo. Curtis also worked for American Crystal in Moorhead, and prior to retirement was in the roofing industry with Howards and Thompson, retiring in 1982.

Throughout the years, Curt enjoyed hunting and fishing, time spent at the lake with family and friends, and gardening. He was a talented craftsman and enjoyed many projects around the house.

Curt is survived by his wife, Phyllis of Fargo; his children – Carol (Duane) Henrickson of Battle Lake, MN; Curtis Jalbert Jr.; Cheri Heuer; and Carl “Butch” Jalbert, all of Fargo. Also surviving are his grandchildren – Patty (Troy) Macziewski, Tracy (Chris) Roach, Justin Heuer, Shana Heuer, Shannon Henrickson, and Wayne Henrickson; and his great grandchildren – Brandon Macziewski, Brady Macziewski, Kamden Macziewski, and McKenna Rankin-Roach. He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant son, David Jalbert, and siblings – Elizabeth, Clara, Adreane, Helen, Earl, Johnny, Bill, and Dolly.
