Dale went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 31, 2005, at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, at the age of 67, surrounded by his loving family. Dale was born on January 4, 1938, the son of Edward and Harriet (McCready) Benzinger, in Stanton, North Dakota. He grew up in the Valley City area prior to moving to a dairy farm near Erhard, Minnesota, when he was 12. Dale graduated from Pelican Rapids High School. He then attended North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, North Dakota. Dale proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves for nearly 7 years. Dale was united in marriage to Carolyn Hoke on September 7, 1963, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After their marriage they lived in Wahpeton where he worked for Lillegard Implement. In 1965 they moved to Hillsboro where he worked for Hillsboro Implement. Dale had most recently worked for Case I-H in Crookston and Ada, Minnesota prior to his retirement. During retirement years Dale received his Exhorter Minister?s License and was very active in the Living Waters Fellowship. Dale is survived by his loving wife of nearly 42 years, Carolyn Jean of Hillsboro; his daughter, Robyn Dayle (Tod) Goering of Fargo; and grandchildren, Adam Lee, Alicia May, and Christian John. He is also survived by his brothers and sister, Clifford (Delores) Scheurer of Mandan, North Dakota; Evelyn Zanke of Brainerd, Minnesota; Jerry (Sharon) Koenke of Driscoll, Missouri; and Calvin Scheurer of Brainerd; and several very special nieces and nephews. Dale was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Chris; and sister, Abagail. A Celebration of Dale?s Life will be held 2 PM Saturday, September 10, 2005, at the Hillsboro United Parish UCC-UMC. A private family burial service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Hillsboro. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Wildeman Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
