Dale Busche

Dale L. Busche, 72, of Fargo, ND, formerly of Devils Lake, ND, passed away on February 17, 2016. He had been diagnosed with cancer a few months ago.
Dale was born at Seattle, WA on October 11, 1943, the son of Rawlynn and Louva Joy (Ballinger) Busche. He grew up in Lakota, ND and graduated from Lakota High School in 1961. Dale attended Valley City State College and Weaver Airline School and began working for Northwest Airlines in Minneapolis in 1964. He married Kathie Juhl and over the years their family would grow to include three children. In 1972 they moved to Devils Lake where Dale owned the American Family Insurance Agency. On September 13, 1997 he was united in marriage to Karen Bredman Myers of Fargo and continued his career there. After living near Lake Park, MN for a few years the couple returned to Fargo where he had recently retired.
Dale was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Fargo, and a former member and past congregational president of St. Olaf Lutheran in Devil's Lake. He had also been active in the Devils Lake Kiwanis organization and the Masonic Lodge. He held longtime membership in the University of North Dakota-Lake Region Athletic Booster Club and in 2013 was honored as an inductee into the UND-LR Hall of Fame.
Family members include his wife, Karen; 6 children: Scott (Belinda) Busche of Lakeville, MN, Heather (Fuat) Abbasoglu of Delran, NJ, Sarah Busche of Alexandria, MN, and Michael (Shonna) Myers, Steven Myers, and Rebecca Myers, all of Fargo; and 5 grandchildren: Eric and Hayden Busche, Connor and Duncan Vandergon, and Anya Myers; 2 brothers and a sister: Randy (Candace) Busche of Cedar Falls, IA, Douglas (Lana) Busche of Fountain Hills, AZ, and Rawla (Terry) Adkins of Rochester, MN; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; parents-in-law, Cal and Luverne Bredman of Ada, MN; brother-in-law, Jim (Rose) Bredman of Crookston, MN; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The funeral service for Dale Busche will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Hope Lutheran Church South in Fargo, ND, with The Rev. Mike Toomey officiating. Visitation will be on Monday, February 22, 2016 from 5 to 7 PM at the Boulger Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center in Fargo, with a prayer service at7 PM and visitation also at the church for one hour prior to the funeral.

I have many fond memories of visiting North Dakota in the summertime and particularly swimming at the Lakota city pool with Uncle Dale. He was such a fun-loving guy who was always up for a good time. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family during this very difficult time. He will be greatly missed.
Not a day will pass where you will not be missed. Forever in my heart. Best daddy anyone could ever be blessed with.
You were my best friend, my best fan, wonderful brother, and super uncle to my children. I will carry you in my heart forever and ever.
Karen I am so sorry for you loss. I remember when you and Dale. first got together and the beautiful wedding. I only can pray for you and make sure you know i care and love you. My heart goes out to you and the family
Dale and I were neighbors in Lakota, and we both played im band. Many fond memories of the Busch family and Lakota. Rest in peace.

My heartfelt condolences to the family. Heather was my first friend when I moved to Devils Lake in the 6th grade and Dale was my first Insurance Agent as an adult. He always had great insurance advice for me-Shawna you must try not to get speeding tickets!! I am so glad I got to visit with him on New Years Eve. Heaven has gained a great man. RIP Dale
I had the pleasure of meeting Dale on several occasions and each time was memorable. It was “like” at first sight. I hope, for him, as well. Dale was a warm, vibrant, loving man with a wonderful sense of humor. I have very fond memories of the moments shared with him and his family in North Dakota. But what was most memorable about Dale was the image of who he really was, which was presented through the stories of his daughter, Heather, my best friend. Heather shared many moments of her life as Dale Busche’s daughter and I too, wanted to be the daughter of this man. She recounted the many moments of his kindness, warmth, understanding, humanity, and love through stories that are so precious that I look forward to sharing them with Connor and Duncan one day, so that they can experience the wonderful feelings over and over again, as I have. The loss of this man will be felt for generations. My deepest condolences to the entire family. I wish I could be there to share my respect and love for this man.
I worked with Dale for many years with American Family. I have missed our conversations. My prayers to the family. He was a good guy.
I am so sorry. Dale and I always loved ribbing each other since I was little. He always made me laugh, he will be missed.
Sorry to hear about Dale’s death. I knew him well when we were growing up. Our farm was only half a mile north of the farm of Allen and Shirley Busche.

We have indeed lost a good man. Dale and I first met while he was a agent with American Family
Insurance Company in Devils Lake. One of my fondest memories of Dale was when we took a trip
together to visit a friend in South Dakota. May he rest in peace.
We moved in next door to Dale in July 2015. Even though our time knowing each other was short, we got along really well. It felt like we had been good neighbors for years. He will be missed by a lot of people.

It will truly be a wonderful time when Almighty God establishes Kingdom over the earth and fulfills his promise found in Revelation chap 21 verse 4-5. Memories with Dale go back to the eighties my first insurance agent, and now just a few months ago talking with
Dale about a product he could sell and I could not had a few laughs, said he would buy me a drink when I got
to Fargo guess that will have to wait . May you Rest in Peace Dale and God bless you and your family
Dale Busche was my 1st insurance agent. His communications skills were successful in bridging that 1st encounter of my young adult life, shopping for insurance. That was 1973 and I still have Am. Family for my insurance needs. Through the years, Dale was always helpful and personable, regardless of what catastrophe I was reporting. Insurance Agent Dale was a “diamond in the rough” and an example for others to follow. Thanks, Dale for all your assistance over the 43 years we did business with each other. Rest in Peace.
