Daphne Porter

Daphne Porter, 82, of Hillsboro, ND passed away on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Bethany on 42nd, Fargo, ND under Hospice Care.Daphne Porter was born March 28, 1929 to John and Josephine Gilbertson. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1947. On July 9, 1949 Daphne was united in marriage to Gene Porter. The couple started farming in 1950 in Bohnsack Township in Traill County, ND.

Daphne was truly a farmer’s wife, helping in the fields, dairy barn, and with the yard work. She enjoyed baking and many delicious treats were enjoyed by family and friends. Daphne always enjoyed card playing with her many friends.Gene and Daphne enjoyed many winters as “Snow Birds” in Mesa, AZ. They moved into Hillsboro in 1995.

Daphne is survived by two daughters: Rebecca (Gary) Pender, Alexandria, MN, Jane Porter, Fargo, ND; Grandsons: Kyle Gene and Kevin Andrew. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Gene in 2001; Grandson Corey John; and two brothers.
