Obituary

Darlene (Jegtvig) Eckdahl

Darlene Ardell Eckdahl, 71, passed away June 20, 2018 at her residence in Fargo, ND under the care of her husband, Harry, and Hospice of the Red River Valley. Per her wishes, a memorial service will not be held.

Darlene was born June 6, 1947 to Evelit and Alden Jegtvig. She grew up and attended school in Fargo, ND. On February 7, 1984, she married Harry Eckdahl of Forest Lake, MN. Through the years, she worked as a beautician for DeLendrecies and JC Penney, and later traveled and worked with Harry in their trucking business, Eckdahl Trucking. She was an enthusiastic Minnesota Vikings fan her whole life, and greatly enjoyed her vacations to Las Vegas and other travels with Harry. Darlene loved and enjoyed being around her children and grandchildren. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and she and Harry were truly best friends that loved to joke with one another and laugh to no end. She also had a tender heart and was always there if you needed her for anything.

Darlene is survived by her loving husband, Harry Eckdahl; her daughter Sherri (Rheault) Cote; her son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Karman Rheault; her stepsons Steve Eckdahl, Trenton Eckdahl, Daniel Campbell, and Todd Campbell; her sister and brother-in-law, Marlene and Gene Nelson; and her grandchildren Amber Cote, Brandon Cote, Syler Rheault, Caiden Rheault, and Zenna Rheault. She was preceded in death by her parents Alden and Evelit Jegtvig.

The family would like to gratefully acknowledge all the loving care which Darlene received from Hospice of the Red River Valley.

I have known Darlene for many years. Though our paths took different ways over the years when we connected we would pick up right where we left off. She was a loyal friend. So happy she had 34 years with her best friend /husband Harry. Praying for all who mourn her loss and that you find some comfort in knowing that she is at peace and no longer in pain.

What a shame to loose Darlene. We had a lot of fun in our younger days before I left for the Twin Cities. Wished I would have kept in touch more but once you leave town, it’s hard to get ahold of everybody you want to see again. Darlene was one of them. Harry took good care of you during your sickness and did a good job of it. Rest in Peace
