David ?Les? Leslie Hanson, Sr. age 82, died on Tuesday, January 6, 2009, at MeritCare, Fargo, ND. David was born on January 29, 1926 on the farm near Kintyre, ND to Knute and Anna ?Myrtle? (Kershaw) Hanson. He worked with his dad?s construction company for a number of years. He married Katherine Stalter on April 13, 1946 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN. He started working with Bower?s Roofing in Fargo, ND and remained with the company for many years before joining Building Specialties in Moorhead, MN. He roofed and painted many of the churches in MN and ND and painted the crosses on countless steeples. In the off season he worked for Great Northern Railroad in the refrigeration cars and with Western Fruit and the Round House in maintenance. He retired in 1989. David enjoyed time at the lake. He was always working on the yard and doing remodeling projects. He was a member of Eagles and enjoyed dancing and traveling. He is survived by his children: Linda Zeutschel (Keith) Horace, ND, Rita Richard (Claude) Fargo, ND, David Hanson, Jr. (Laurie) Dilworth, MN; 9 grandchildren: Lori Ackerson (Greg) Oak Grove, MN, Chad Zeutschel, Fargo, ND, Jonathan Zeutschel, Fargo, Jamie Richard (Dovett) Fargo, ND, Ryan Richard (Jessica) Horace, ND, Lesley Richard, West Fargo, ND, Andrew Hanson (Destini) Cambridge, MN, Cody Hanson, Dilworth, Katherine Hanson, Dilworth; 10 great grandchildren: Sara Ackerson, Zackery Richard, Tryniti Richard, Evan Richard, Brody Richard, Drayton Hanson, Michael Larue, Jacob Hanson, Bekah Jendro, and Maxwell Hanson; and a brother: Earl Hanson (Bette) Cooperstown, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Katherine; brothers and sisters: Alfred Hanson , Nellie Dutton, Clifford Hanson, Lawrence Hanson and two infant sisters. The Funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, January 9, 2009 at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND with Visitation one hour prior to the service.
