This beautiful assurance that God cares about us is found in the Bible at Psalms 34:18. With sympathy, John.

  8. Lion Dave — what a wonderful man. He helped others be better people. Dave helped many of us in the Fargo Lions Club just by being there — and always eating dessert. His love of golf was a legend. When his honey got him a good spot to play St. Andrew’s Golf Course he must have been close to heaven. Jenny — I know you’re going to miss him. You two had a special friendship and marriage. Peace be with you all.

  9. Jenny and family so sorry to hear that Dave has passed away. I worked with him at Metropolitan Federal Bank and enjoyed that time very much. He always had a smile on his face and I will always remember him bringing in his brooms and light bulbs for us to buy to support the Lions club he was quite the salesman. Prayers to you all during this difficult time. He will be greatly missed.

  14. Bryan and Family,
I am still in shock after reading about your Dad in today’s Forum. I’m not sure what to say. Three or four years ago, when I still lived in Montana, I was driving down East Country Club, memory lane, and your Dad was out raking his front yard. I stopped of course, and we had a nice talk for five or ten minutes. He filled me in on what you and David and Scott were up too, and I did the same concerning my Folks and my Sister Deb. He told me he was doing a lot of golfing. I knew he loved the game, in fact I saw him on the course quite often at the Moorhead Country Club. A friend of mine was a member 20 years ago and we played every Wednesday. Your Dad was always friendly and pleasant to me Bryan. Considering what a delinquent I was as a teeneger, it always surprised me when I would run into him. I cannot imagine what you and your Family are going through. I am so sorry for your loss. My Folks send their deepest sympathies. They are down South for the Winter. I will be ice fishing next week in Mn, but my thoughts will be with you and your Family Bryan. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

  15. I worked with Dave at Metropolitan Federal and was also in the Fargo Lions Club with him. Dave always had a smile on his face (kind of like a little boy who had just done something wrong). His smile was an invitation to visit which he did very well. He loved the people that he worked and played with.

His obituary mentions his love for golf, but doesn’t say anything about his love for bowling. This was another of his passions. For the past few years I would see him at the Village Inn with some of his longtime friends. Dave loved sweets of all sorts. I extend my sympathies to the family. May you be comforted by the knowledge that he is now hitting and rolling the ball straight every time.

  16. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of David. You were always so kind to our family thank you so much. Love Jackie and Tom Ehlis

  17. Sincerest condolences Jenny and family. May God’s grace and mercy help you through this difficult time. Jenny, you and Dave have been such a wonderful couple to get to know at Nativity. We are going to miss Dave’s smiling face and joyful presence at Mass and particularly during the Fall Festival. I’m glad his physical suffering is done. May he find eternal peace and rest with Jesus.

    Nancy and Paul Kochmann

  18. You are in our thoughts and prayers and wishing you and your family strength and peace.

    Love,

  19. Jenny & family, very sorry to hear of your loss. I passed the word at Union State as things were worsening and they all shared great memories of Dave & his work at Union State. I remember him most for his counting of $$ at church and hard work at the Fall festival at Nativity. He always had a smile and was eager to share a story. One of my great mentors, I will miss him. Our prayers are with you all,

  20. Scott and Family,

  24. Jenny and Family:

My sincere condolences on the loss of such a beloved family member. I met Dave years ago at Merchants Bank, we didn’t have any problem remembering each others first names.
It was really great to welcome him to the Metropolitan family when he joined our team, he was a pleasure to work with.
After watching and enjoying the video in loving memory of Dave’s life there is no need to say, may the memory of his life helped you through this difficult time, it’s there you lived it, it’s recorded with great love laughter and peace. What a great run you all had with such a loving husband, dad, and grandfather. He will be missed, God bless.

  25. Deepest condolences on your loss. He was a fine man and I remember him fondly. He is and will be missed.

  26. I worked with Dave at Metropolitan Federal. Dave was such a pleasant man and I enjoyed working with him. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. God Bless!
