David L. (Benny) Bensen

David L. (Benny) Bensen, 67, Dilworth, Minnesota, passed away at his home on Wednesday, December 2, 2009. David was born on October 29, 1942 in Fargo, ND. He grew up in the Horace area, attending schools in Fargo and Horace. Benny enlisted in the Navy where he served for four years prior to his discharge. David L. Bensen and Patricia (Pat) Mortenson were married in Moorhead, MN on November 21, 1964. They lived in Moorhead before moving to Dilworth where they have lived for the last 33 years. Benny was currently working at Aggregate Industries and had worked for Kost Brothers and Aggregate Industries for many years. He was a volunteer with the Dilworth Fired Department for 25 years. He was a family man who loved his family dearly. He is survived by his wife, Pat, Dilworth; children, Sandra (Joey) Bensen, Lake Park, MN, Dawn (Derek) Braseth, Dilworth, Dennis (Karen) Bensen, Fargo; sisters, Judy Mortenson, Moorhead, Joan (Jerry) Brager, West Fargo, and Janet Bensen, West Fargo; 5 grandchildren, Lacey, Cory, Austin, Tanner, and Savanna; and 2 great grandchildren, Hailey and Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Adelle Bensen, brother, Calvin, and grandchildren Bria and Chase Braseth. The funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Dilworth Lutheran Church. There will be a Prayer Service at Boulger Funeral Home at 7:00 p.m. Sunday. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 Sunday in the funeral home and one hour before the funeral in the church. Interment will be at St. John’s cemetery, Horace.
