David Stenslie, age 55, of Fargo, formerly of Grand Forks, ND, died on March 18, 2018 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo surrounded by his family.
David Donald Stenslie was born on October 28, 1962, in Fargo, the son of Donald and Janice Stenslie. He moved to Grand Forks with his family where he grew up and attended school and worked. After the flood in April of 1997, David moved to Fargo where he became a part of the Friendship Inc. family.
Throughout his life, music was a staple. One of his favorite things to do was to spend weekends and Summers with his grandparents in Pekin, ND. David also loved attending church on Sundays and participating in church functions. His family and friends were important and played important roles throughout his entire life. He was very social and loved going to events and dances. David was very proud to have owned his own vending business later in life. He also had met Jill several years ago and was the love of his life until the end.
David is survived by his mother, Janice (Darryl) Osowski; his brother, Jay (Vicky) Stenslie – Nick, Evan and Lauren; his sister, Nancy (Shawn) Laughery; his aunts and uncles - Gloria Allington (Chuck Blowers), John and Lois Ham, and Virginia Stenslie; several cousins, and a fiancé, Jill Oland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Friendship Inc. in Fargo.
Memorial Services will be held at 1 PM Friday, March 23, 2018 at Bethel Church in Fargo with visitation one hour prior to the service in the church
Burial will be at a later date in Pekin, ND.

I was so sorry to hear of David’s death. He was such a delightful man and he added so much to our RCIA sessions. It was always a delight to. See him ushering at Holy Cross when he was a member there. He was a wonderful gift to us. We were blessed by his presence. My prayers go out to all of David’s family.

Dear Janice, My sympathy to you and family . I saw that name and thought it had to be your child. Seems he was just little and now I see he was in his fifties. What a special person and I am sure he was loved by so many. God Bless you.
SORRY to see David passed and glad he was apart of the Cornerstone Ministries, Bethel Church, the choir. Always good to see his smile.

David sang with our choir at Bethel Church. He was a great worshipper and he inspired others to worship.
I am thankful that I knew him. He has gone home to worship his Lord and Savior.

Sincere condolences to David’s family. I remember when I used to cut David’s hair at the JCPenny salon years ago. He lit up the room, and such a breath of fresh air. I have fond memories of David. He was a very caring person. Will miss him.
I certainly remember David when he sang with us in choir. So sorry to hear of his passing, but I’m also rejoicing that he has gone home to be with Jesus in Heaven. Praying for Jill and the family during this difficult time. I hope she’s going to be okay without him. They’ve been together for a long time.
David was one the most beautiful and wonderful person I have ever known. We played together as children, and I will forever cherish those memories of him. I look forward to the day when I get to see his wonderful smiling face in heaven. My thoughts and prayers go out to his wonderful family and friends.
I. knew David he first lived in Fargo. My husband , Bill Anderson was related to David’s farher, Donald. When the Stenslie’s moved to Grand Forks, we had moved there too in 1966. David;s mother asked me to start a Sunday School class at Calvary Luth. for Spec. needs children. David was one of my first classes and kept coming through confirmation He was always so delightful, smiley and loved music. What a remarkable young man. I worked intherapy at Valley Eldercare for 30 years as a flex employee and was still there when is father was a patient. Love, Blessings and prayers to his family and friends.
Sincere sympathy to you all…haven’t seen you since we were neighbors in GF…David sounds like a wonderful person and will be missed. May God comfort you with His strength and peace and knowledge that he lives with his savior forever.

The news of David passing came as a surprise to me. He was a great guy and I looked forward to working with him! I’m glad I got to get to know David!
I had the utmost pleasure of knowing David for the past 8 years. I was taken by surprise at the news of his passing. I will greatly miss the sounds of the Bethel choir emanating from your bedroom, the stories of Mitsy the poodle, and David’s gigantic grin resulting from his moments of mischief. No matter how hard or bad my day was going, David was able to bring a smile to my face and laughter to my soul. I already miss you immensely kind sir! Bust out some “Greased Lightning” moves for me up in Heaven.
Heaven gained a beautiful angel! I worked with David back in the early 2000s as part of the Friendship Inc. family! After I moved out of the area I loved when he would call me out of the blue just to catch up! Such a sweet and gentle soul that always could put a smile on my face. He was, and always will be a dear friend. So many wonderful memories… Monthly dinner clubs, dances, coffee and lots of laughs. You were one amazing man David and you will be greatly missed! Rest in peace my friend! <3
I am sorry to hear of David’s passing after so long. David was one of the gentlest, truest souls that I have ever encountered. We became friends as very young children, and although our lives drifted apart for various reasons, David had a unique ability to appear on and off throughout the years, at the times when it was most important. Bless you, Dave – the world is less without you.
