Dean Marlin Brogren, 53, died Sunday, April 13, 2008, at his home surrounded by family and friends.
Dean was born July 31, 1954, to Virgil Elmer and Margaret Helen (Bromander) Brogren in Waubun, MN. He was baptized at Asplund Lutheran Church, Flom, MN. He moved to Fargo, ND, with his family in 1960. He attended Children?s Harbor School from 1961 to 1999, where he enjoyed bowling, square dancing, swimming, and Special Olympics. Dean enjoyed music and playing his drum. Dean has lived at Fraser Group Home #1 since 2000.
Dean was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fargo.
Dean will be fondly remembered as a loving, gentle and good man. He touched the hearts of the people he met. His happy nature was infectious.
He was preceded in death by his parents and Godfather, Kenneth Bromander.
He is survived by his siblings, Marlene (John) Burkel of Vadnais Heights, MN; Marlys (Darwin) Burda-Leach of Dilworth, MN; Darrell (Susan) Brogren of New Effington, SD; Corinne Brogren of Denver, CO; Curtis (Kris) Brogren of New Castle, PA; Randy (Linda) Brogren of Fargo; Dennis Olson of Fargo, a close family friend; extended family at Fraser; 12 nieces and nephews; 5 great nieces and nephews; his Godmother, Arla (Russell) Kent of Waubun, MN; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation: Wednesday, April 16 from 5:00-6:30 pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fargo, and also one hour prior to the service in the church on Thursday.
Prayer Service: Wednesday at 6:30 pm at the church.
Funeral Service: Thursday, April 17 at 1:00 pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fargo.
Interment: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Fargo.
