Deborah Jean Bitterman Westbrook, 51, Fargo passed away Friday, February 3, 2012 at her home.

Deb was born on July 2, 1960 at St. John's Hospital in Fargo. She was the daughter of Erna and Richard Bitterman. She grew up in Fargo graduating from Fargo South High School.  Deborah married Michael Westbrook in 1988. Deb and Michael had two children, a son, Joshua and a daughter, Jamie.  Deb worked for over 20 years at the south University Drive Pizza Hut.  Due to medical reasons, Deb left Pizza Hut and retired in Fargo.

Deb, as her friends knew her, had a love for riding horses.

She is survived by her mother, Erna Stacy; brother, Blaine Bitterman; son, Joshua; daughter, Jamie, all of Fargo; step-brother, Skip Stacy, Fargo, ND; step-sister, Mary Beth Winfrey, St. Louis, MO; ex-husband, Michael.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Bitterman and her step-dad, Clint Stacy.

    My heart is heavy with sadness with Debbie’s passing, but I believe she is now free of all pain. I will miss my “Fargo Forum” reporter! We had many, many laughs in our phone conversations and I will miss those. Debbie had a big, kind heart and loved all of you very much.

The last time I talked to Debbie she was so proud and tickled that she and her friend could help decorate your room for Christmas. She loved you so much.

    Erna I remember the times when you fixed us delicious lunches in Fargo. We always so enjoyed visiting with you and of course your good cooking.

    Debbie and I lived in the same house in South Fargo for a about a year in the early 80’s. (She lived upstairs and I had the basement). She was a very nice person. You have my sympathy.

    Our friend went to sleep in her recliner, and decided not to wake up. We will miss her. Deb and Carol enjoyed their time together, going shopping, for lunch, to the hairdresser, and Deb’s favorite “The Dentist”. Rest in peace Deb.
