Delia (Mergenthal) McGhee Delia passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Eventide Lutheran Home in Moorhead, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Delia Jenine Lillian Mergenthal was born on October 30, 1953 in Grand Forks, ND, the daughter of Willard and Lillian (Watne) Mergenthal. She grew up on the family farm near Hillsboro, ND. She attended school in Hillsboro and completed her schooling in St. Paul, MN where she graduated from High School. Delia made her home on the farm near Hillsboro for many years. She loved her time on the farm and cherished every moment spent with her family. She was always there for them offering her love and support. She had a special love for all animals, especially her beloved cats. Throughout the years she worked various jobs in the Hillsboro area. In 2001 she moved to West Fargo, ND to be closer to her family. Delia was diagnosed with cancer in the fall of 2016 and fought a courageous battle for nearly a year. Delia is survived by her sister, Lilas Olson of West Fargo; and her brother, David Mergenthal of Mankato, MN; and many very dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Lillian; and her siblings – Jennings Mergenthal, Judith Freeland, and Larkin Mergenthal. FUNERAL SERVICE: 3 PM Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Wildeman-Boulger Funeral Home in Hillsboro VISITATION: 5-7 PM Friday at Wildeman-Boulger Funeral Home – and also one hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Saturday BURIAL: Immanuel Cemetery near Hillsboro
