Dennis J. Koppang 73, Hillsboro, ND died Friday, April 21, 2006 in Meritcare Hospital, Fargo, ND.
Dennis was born Sept. 11, 1932 in Caledonia, ND to Louis and Myrtle (Stigen) Koppang. He grew up on a farm near Caledonia and graduated from Caledonia High School. Dennis worked for the Traill County Highway Dept. until 1951 when he enlisted in the Marine Corps. He proudly served his country during the Korean War, where he was stationed. After his discharge from the service he returned to Caledonia and resumed working for the Highway Dept. and later with Schultz and Lindsey Construction.
Dennis married Lois Jean Brown on December 20, 1959 at Grand Forks, ND. The couple lived there for a short time before moving to Hillsboro, ND. In 1970 Dennis began working for Grandin Manufacturing in Grandin, ND as a welder, where he worked until his retirement in 1994.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lois, who died in 1992.
Dennis hobbies included restoring antique cars, fixing lawn mowers and fishing. He always drove Chevrolet cars. He loved visiting with his grandchildren when ever possible.
Dennis is survived by two daughters, Denise (Lance) Willison, Eagle Butte, SD and Kristi Teece, Carrollton, MO; a brother, Merlin, West Fargo, ND. five grandchildren; Steve Willison, Kendra Willison, Jamie Paulsrud, Stationed in Baghdad, Iraq, Jessica Paulsrud and Michael Lysne.
Visitation: Monday 5:00 until 7:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. in the Wildeman Funeral Home
Funeral: Tuesday 10:30 a.m. Our Savior?s Lutheran Church, Hillsboro, ND
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Hillsboro, ND
