Dennis L. Larson, age 69, 81 27th Avenue North, Fargo, died Sunday, October 17, 2004, in his home under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley. Dennis LeRoy Larson was born October 7, 1935, in Valley City, ND, the son of Alget and Dagny (Larsen) Larson. He grew up on the family farm near Hastings, ND, and graduated from Litchville (ND) High School in 1953. He attended Wahpeton State School of Science and later enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served in the Army from 1955-57. Shortly after his discharge he moved to Fargo and began working for Shirley Onstad Plumbing & Heating. He married Joan Arne on September 7, 1958, in Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisbon. He began working as a plumber at Laney Plumbing & Heating in 1960. He became a union plumber and pipe fitter. He traveled throughout the Midwest, working on such projects as the Coal Gasification Plant in Beulah, ND, the paper mill in Brainerd, MN, the prison in Appleton, MN, and the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, ND. He retired in April 2000. Dennis loved adventure, traveling seven times to St. Martin, West Indies. They also traveled to the Amazon in South America, the Panama Canal, Alaska, and Norway. He also enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. In his spare time, he did bead work and woodworking. He spent a great deal of time at his farm in Valley City. He was honored to serve as Best Man at his son?s wedding. He is survived by his wife, Joan of Fargo; his son, Rick (Tina) of Grapeview, WA; his mother, Dagny Larson of Valley City; one sister, Lois Smedshammer of Litchville, ND; three step-grandchildren; and one great grandchild. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Hope Lutheran Church, North Campus, Fargo. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held in the church on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
