Devina Marie Felt, 96, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2010 at Bethany on 42nd in Fargo, North Dakota.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo, North Dakota with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be held Sunday, August 15, 2010 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in rural St. Thomas, North Dakota.
Devina was born December 14, 1913 to Daniel and Hilma (Bergquist) Bergsman in Adams, North Dakota. She lived with step-parents Minnie and Carl Bergsland. She graduated from high school in Adams, North Dakota. She was united in marriage to William (Bill) Felt on April 9, 1936. Three children were born to this union, Deanna Sturlaugson, Doris (Keith) Burley, and Daniel. Devina was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at St. Thomas, North Dakota where she taught Sunday school, vacation bible school, was a member of the LWML and also sang in the choir. She was also active in Faith Lutheran Church in Sebring, Florida-singing in the choir and working in the church store. Devina and Bill lived their entire lives on the family farm with several years of wintering in California and in Sebring, Florida. She was noted for being an excellent seamstress and also for her cake decorating skills. Devina also worked at the Developmental Center in Grafton for over 17 years before retiring. She had previously lived in an apartment at Riverview in Fargo, North Dakota before becoming a resident of Bethany on 42nd in March of 2010.
Survivors include her children: Deanna Sturlaugson of Renville, Minnesota and Doris (Keith) Burley of Page, North Dakota; her grandchildren: Terry Sturlaugson of Shakopee, Minnesota, Kelly (Kathy) Sturlaugson of Crystal, Minnesota, Craig (Onju) Sturlaugson of Robbinsdale, Minnesota, Karan (Ryan) Ambuehl of Glyndon, Minnesota, and Ryan Burley of Columbus, Ohio; her great grandchildren: Steven (Laurel) Sturlaugson, Charlie Sturlaugson, Stacy Sturlaugson, Jacob Sturlaugson, Elizabeth (Marc) Kohlhof, Michelle Sturlaugson, Sienna Ambuehl, and Jaxon Ambuehl.
She was preceded in death by her parents, foster parents, husband and son Daniel.
