Dina Sundby

The Funeral Service for Dina Sundby will be held 2 PM Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at Our Savior??s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4 - 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM in Wildeman Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Wednesday. Burial will be held in the Arnegard Cemetery near Hillsboro. Dina died on Sunday, July 13, 2003, at the Hillsboro Medical Center Nursing Home at the age of 97. Dina Sundby was born on April 18, 1906, in Norway Township, near Hillsboro. She was the daughter of Johannes and Guri (Arnegard) Sundby. She moved to a farm near Hillsboro with her family when she was 10 years old and has lived on that farm until moving to the Hillsboro Nursing Home in February of 2003. Dina attended country school in Bloomfield Township and later in Hillsboro graduating from Hillsboro High School in 1923. She worked with her family on the farm for many years and helped take care of her parents in their later years. Dina also wrote the Bloomfield News for the Hillsboro Banner for nearly 70 years. Dina was a member of Our Savior??s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro as well as a member of WELCA. She also was a member of the Daughters of Pioneers and the Bloomfield Homemakers Club. Dina served for many years as treasurer of Arnegard Cemetery near Hillsboro. Dina was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Albert, Oscar, and Edwin; her sister, Agnes; and her sister-in-law, Cora. She is survived by many dear friends and relatives.
