Dolores Burianek

dolores burianek
Dolores Mae Burianek, age 90, of Fargo, ND, passed away on Monday, February 3rd at Villa Maria in Fargo, ND. She was born on December 2, 1929 in Winnipeg, Canada to Silas and Madeline (Demester) Croaker. Dolores was united in marriage to Ambrose “Amby” Burianek on June 15, 1973 in Grafton, ND. They lived in Grafton for many years before Dolores moved to Fargo. Dolores was the most famous ‘checker’ in all of Grafton and worked at Ben Franklin and Wally’s Grocery Store for many years. Dolores had a heart of gold and loved her family endlessly. She was famous for her bear hugs – a hug you would never forget. She loved the Minnesota Twins (specifically Torii Huner), Wild Hockey and Vikings football. She recovered from her many disappointments in Minnesota sports by dancing, cooking for her beloved family, finishing crossword puzzles and spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Tom (Janet) Johnson, Fargo; Brad Johnson, Fargo; a daughter, Barb Korbl, Fargo; thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; three brothers, Larry (Diane) Croaker, Billings, MT; Wayne Croaker and Brian Croaker, Fargo. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ambrose Burianek, her son Robert Johnson, her daughter Vicky Johnson, her brothers Lee, Dick and Ron Croaker, and her sister-in-laws, Karen and June Croaker. A sincere thank you to the skilled and caring staff at Villa Maria who gave Dolores love and care during the last few months of her wonderful life. There will be a memorial Mass at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 7, 2020 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Fargo with a visitation one hour prior.

Guestbook

  1. Sorry to hear of Dolores’s passing. I worked with her at Wally’s in Grafton and enjoyed her sense of humor. She was always upbeat and so friendly. Condolences to the family.

  2. Tommy and Barbara Jean.. I remember your mom as always smiling, always friendly, and so caring. Our days growing up together at Grandma Lux and Grampa Al Johnson’s Eastside Grocery with the Nybo kids next door remain vivid and always make me smile. Losing a parent is so hard! But always remember that love *never* dies and that you will all be reunited with her at the end of your days on earth. Peace, cousin Debby Torkelson Dusek, Wahpeton
