Dolores Gooselaw, 70, Fargo, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, in the home of her daughter Marianne. Dolores Marion Maiers was born Dec. 11, 1932, in Council Bluffs, IA. She grew up in Grand Forks, ND, and attended St. Michaels Elementary and graduated from St. James Academy in 1951. After high school she attended Aaker?s Business School. After working for John Deere in Grand Forks, she moved to San Francisco and worked for Pacific Bell Telephone. On Sept. 9, 1958, she married Donald W. Gooselaw in Hunter, ND. They made their home in North Fargo and owned several businesses including the Sports Bar, Fashion Villa, Arlene?s Beauty Salon, and Mr. Don?s State College of Beauty. Later, she worked at the Scandia Hotel and for the F-M Emergency Food Pantry where she enjoyed working with community workers and volunteers for 15 years before retiring in 2001. Dolores was happiest spending time with her grandchildren and friends. She also cherished her lifelong relationships with friends from her childhood. Her generosity and selfless devotion to her family, parish, and community will be greatly missed by all. She is survived by her three daughters, Jamie (Adrian) Lund, Halstead, Kans.; Marianne (Joe) Johnson, Fargo; Renee (Murry) Herrmann, Detroit Lakes, Minn.; two brothers, Richard Maiers, Glenwood, Iowa; Ronald Maiers, Anoka, Minn.; and seven grandchildren. Her parents, an infant sister, and two grandchildren preceded her in death. Visitation: Friday from 12 to 6 p.m. at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, with a prayer service at 8 p.m. in Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Fargo. Visitation will also be held in the church on Saturday from 9:00-9:30 a.m.. Funeral: Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
